Product Overview
The VSI vertical shaft impact crusher (also known as the VSI sand maker) is the core equipment in modern sand and gravel production. It excels particularly at processing hard rock into high-quality manufactured sand while simultaneously shaping the aggregate, resulting in well-formed particles with an optimal gradation. This makes it especially suitable for high-strength concrete and infrastructure projects.
Working Principle
The VSI vertical shaft impact crusher (also known as a sand-making machine) features two feed modes. Central feed: Material enters the feed hopper, passes through the central feed opening into the high-speed rotating rotor where it is accelerated before being ejected through the discharge port. It first collides with a portion of material rebounding from the impact chamber, then strikes the vortex-shaped liner (or impact blocks) within the surrounding vortex chamber. where it is first rebounded towards the top of the crushing chamber before deflecting downward. Colliding with material ejected from the impeller channels, it forms a continuous material curtain before being discharged through the lower outlet. Central feeding is accompanied by annular cascade feeding: material enters the feed hopper, then falls through the annular aperture where it is divided into two streams by the distribution disc. One stream enters the high-speed rotating impeller via the distributor disc, while the other falls around the periphery of the distributor disc. Material entering the impeller is rapidly accelerated before being ejected at high velocity. first colliding with the free-falling portion of material around the distributor disc to achieve initial fragmentation. This combined mass then impacts the vortex-shaped liner (or impact blocks) within the surrounding vortex chamber. Rebounding towards the top of the crushing chamber, it subsequently deflects downward. Colliding with material ejected from the impeller flow channels, it forms a continuous material curtain before being discharged through the lower outlet.
Core Components of the VSI Impact Sand Maker
1. Rotor Assembly System
Features a forged main shaft from high-strength alloy steel, fitted with Swedish SKF self-aligning roller bearings. The bearing housings incorporate integrated temperature sensors and an automatic lubrication system, ensuring rotor stability during high-speed operation.
2. Wear-Resistant Component System
Peripheral liners are fabricated from Cr26 high-chromium alloy with a hardness of HRC58-62. Employing a modular design, locally worn sections can be individually replaced, effectively reducing maintenance and operational costs.
3. Hydraulic Cover Opening System
Comprising a hydraulic power unit, synchronised cylinders, and a safety locking mechanism, this system enables smooth cover opening within 15 minutes via hydraulic control, facilitating internal inspection and maintenance operations.
4. Lubrication System Assembly
Employing a dual-pump forced lubrication method with an oil cooler and filter, this ensures thorough bearing lubrication under high-speed, high-temperature conditions, thereby extending bearing service life.
5. Electrical Control System Assembly
Utilising a Siemens PLC controller and 10-inch touchscreen, it provides real-time display of operational parameters and incorporates intelligent functions including overload protection, fault diagnosis, and remote monitoring.
