Product Overview
The jaw crusher is the most widely employed primary crushing equipment in mineral processing and aggregate production, often referred to as the ‘first line of defence’. Its operating principle is straightforward and reliable: driven by an electric motor, the movable jaw performs periodic reciprocating motion, subjecting materials positioned between the fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate to intense compression and bending forces to achieve crushing. This model is renowned for its robust heavy-duty frame construction, substantial feed opening, and formidable crushing force, enabling effortless processing of extremely large raw material sizes and establishing a solid foundation for the entire production line. Its design is simple and rational, facilitating straightforward maintenance. Core components such as the jaw plates are crafted from wear-resistant materials like high-manganese steel, ensuring exceptionally long service life and minimal failure rates even under harsh operating conditions. It is widely recognised as an efficient and durable choice for heavy-duty applications in mining, quarrying, and similar demanding environments.
Working Principle
The electric motor drives the belt and pulley, causing the movable jaw to move up and down via the eccentric shaft. When the movable jaw rises, the angle between the toggle plate and the movable jaw increases, thereby pushing the movable jaw plate towards the fixed jaw plate. Simultaneously, the material is crushed or split, achieving the crushing objective. As the movable jaw descends, the angle between the toggle and the movable jaw decreases. Under the action of the tie rod and spring, the movable jaw plate moves away from the fixed jaw plate, allowing the crushed material to discharge from the lower opening of the crushing chamber. With the continuous rotation of the motor, the movable jaw performs periodic crushing and discharging movements, enabling batch production.
Core Components of PE Jaw Crusher
1. Heavy-duty Frame:
Serving as the equipment’s foundational skeleton, it employs a box-type welded or cast steel structure to ensure overall rigidity and stability.
2. Crushing Components:
Comprising fixed and movable jaw plates, these are fabricated from high-manganese steel and directly engage in crushing operations, constituting the primary wear-resistant parts.
3. Drive System:
Driven by an electric motor via pulleys and an eccentric shaft, it induces periodic reciprocating motion of the movable jaw plate to achieve compression crushing.
4. Adjustment Mechanism:
Precise control of discharge particle size is achieved by altering the position of the toggle plate through adjustment of wedges or shims.
5. Safety Device:
The toggle plate not only transmits power but also functions as a safety pin for overload protection. It fractures preferentially upon encountering non-crushable objects, thereby safeguarding the main unit.
